Our Programs
Together, TigerCHAT, Central Alabama Community College (CACC), and the Rural Healthcare Initiative form a powerful network focused on improving community health and healthcare education across east central Alabama. Through interactive programs like TigerCHAT and CACC's newly funded rural health expansion, students of all ages—from elementary to college—gain valuable, hands-on experience in health and wellness. These initiatives, supported by partners like the Russell Medical Foundation, build a healthier future by strengthening local education, training, and care.

Rural Health
In order to make it easier for those in rural communities to receive quality care and expand our service network, Russell Medical opened two rural healthcare locations in Dadeville and New Site. As a part of the Alabama Centers for Rural Healthcare opportunity, the Russell Medical Foundation will be contributing to ensure that healthcare in the rural areas of our community are accessible.

CHAT Programs
TigerCHAT (Community Health, Awareness, and Training) is a collaborative program between the Russell Medical Foundation and Auburn University's College of Nursing that has provided health education to over 10,000 K-6 students in rural Alabama schools over the past seven years. Through a 13-week, modular curriculum delivered by nursing students, the program promotes sustainable healthy behaviors, wellness, and disease prevention, while offering hands-on learning experiences for both schoolchildren and future healthcare professionals.

Nursing Program Affiliation
The Russell Medical Foundation is dedicated to advancing healthcare education in our community. Through partnerships with various Alabama-based colleges and universities, we provide nursing students with hands-on clinical experience alongside experienced nurse mentors in a hospital setting. Additionally, in collaboration with the Alabama Board of Nursing, we support the Nurse Apprenticeship Program by offering scholarships to qualified candidates.
